Lime + Thyme Canna Infused Cocktail

May 15, 2020

It’s Friday and the sun’s out. We are upping our zoom Happy Hour game with this refreshing cocktail. Thankfully, our beloved fumé Brands culinary alchemists are also gifted mixologists and they’ve come up with this refreshing, otherworldly elixir, infused with the heavenly scents of lime and thyme and a dash of everyone’s favorite herb in the form of a cannabis tincture. So, shake up your quarantini game with this delicious cocktail and let’s raise a glass to all of the good things.

“An effervescent, citrus treat. Great balance—delicate sweet from the honey, thyme syrup, and sour from the lime trio. Bubbles that kick those nerve endings up a notch, delivering straight-up refreshment.” – Alex

“This cocktail is bright and refreshing! The honey thyme simple syrup pairs quite well with the lime elements and it adds a nice sweet and floral layer. Add a splash of your favorite sparkling water and vodka to create the perfect beverage for a day on the lake.” – Kevin

Equipment:

  • Zester or grater
  • Small saucepan
  • Sieve or strainer
  • Cocktail shaker or small pitcher (at least 18 ounces)
  • Cocktail glasses
  • Jigger
  • Small mason jar with lid for storing simple syrup

Ingredients:

Simple Syrup:

  • ½ CUP honey
  • ½ CUP water
  • 5-6 sprigs fresh thyme

Cocktail

  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 3 TBSP fresh lime juice (approximately 1 lime)
  • 3 OUNCES vodka (2 jiggers)
  • 1 CAN Lime flavored sparkling water, we used La Croix Lime used for our recipe
  • 4 TBSP honey thyme simple syrup
  • 1 sprig of fresh thyme for garnish
  • 30 DROPS canna tincture

Pro Tip: We recommend you start with 30 drops and increase to suit your intensity preferences. Remember, you can always add more but you can’t add less!

Makes: Two 8 oz cocktails with 5.25 mg THC each or three 5-6 oz cocktails at 3.5 mg THC each. Assume .35 mg per 1 drop tincture or 10.5 mg per 30 drops

Directions:

Step 1: Make the simple syrup

  • In a small pot, combine honey, water, and thyme sprigs.
  • Cook at a simmer over low-medium heat for 18 to 20 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, cool, and let steep for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Strain infused honey through fine metal strainer discarding thyme sprigs. Place in a mason jar or small glass container with a lid to store.

Step 2: Mix your cocktails

  • In a small pitcher or vessel that can hold approximately 18 ounces of liquid, add your cocktail ingredients (minus garnish) and stir together, or shake if you like your cocktails like James Bond.
  • Pour over a few cubes of ice or crushed ice if you prefer.
  • Add a sprig of fresh thyme as a garnish
  • Cheers!
