MIA FUENTES | PLANT TECHNICIAN, CULTIVATION TEAM

What’s your favorite kind of food?

I’m a sucker for three cheese bagel bites, but my second favorite food is anything Italian. 🍝

What was your first job?

My first job was trimming actually. My family has been growing for a long time and I’ve been working on cannabis farms since I was 14. I know my way around a plant!

What’s your favorite book? Movie?

My favorite book is Where the Wild Things Are. I can’t say I have a favorite movie because there are so many good ones out there, but at the moment I get a kick out of The Happytime Murders.

What’s on your bucket list?

My bucket list is very very long. I want to see everything there is to see! I would have to say the cathedrals (Burgos in particular) and the cemeteries in Spain are in my top 10. 🌍🛩️💃

Red or black licorice?

Red

A typical weekend for me is.

My weekends are never usually typical. Saturdays I’m either laying in bed with Netflix or adventuring with my kids. I love to draw and be creative so you will sometimes find me with a pencil in my hand or a paint brush hanging from my mouth.🎨🖌️

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

This was a tough one. There are so many amazing people who have walked this planet so it’s really hard to choose. But I think I would like to ask Jimi Hendrix how many times he’s cut his tongue with his guitar strings. 🎸

How do you relax after a hard day’s work?

I relax by sitting in front of my AC unit with a joint in my hand after a hot day at the garden. Then I love to hang with my family and enjoy a good meal.

What is one thing people don’t know about you?

I’m interested in death. Not people dying, but how different cultures do things after  someone dies. I’ve always wanted to be a mortician at some point in my life. I think giving people the chance to see a loved one for the last time is really special and some people don’t get to do that. 💀

What are you looking forward to in the coming months?

I’m looking forward to seeing how far the plant ladies go past their cages! They’re already humongous as I’m typing this in the middle of the summer. I’m also looking forward to my first harvest at fumé. 🌿

What’s your preferred type of cannabis product?

I love them all! Edibles are perfect for when I want to relax and get my gears turning for new art ideas. Dabs help me eat and sleep cause I have trouble winding down. And with remembering to eat during the day, there’s nothing wrong with some stinky flower. 🌬️

What’s your favorite strain?

Alaskan Thunder Fuck. Like the real stuff. I also enjoy Green Cheese, Gorilla Glue and Cookies N’ Dream. 🍪

Where do you see the cannabis industry in the next 5 years? 10 years?

B O O M I N G! There are so many opportunities and great hard working farmers that spend their whole life growing medical marijuana and boy are they going to shine. Medical cannabis saves lives, from letting our sick children feel better to our fur baby’s doggie arthritis.

Describe your typical day at fumé.

A typical day at fumé is always eventful. The team is like a second family so there’s never a dull moment. There’s always something that needs to be done so you’re constantly on the go, which is alright with me.

What’s your favorite thing about working at fumé?

There are many great things about fumé. The happy energy and the fact that everyone loves their job is what makes fumé a wonderful place to work. Oh and the smell while trimming these beautiful buds of course.
